Open for all. The competition is open to all PROFESSIONALS and 3rd year to 5th year college students. We are encourging not just Web and Mobile Developers to join but also Designers, Creative individuals, Marketers, Business Dev., Startups, Mass Communication and Advertising practioners or anyone who has some crazy and innovative ideas.
Team effort. Each group must consist of 3-5 individuals (REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY) and must register their team name during day one of the hackathon proper.
Terms & conditions. All participants must submit their signed waiver agreeing to the terms & conditions which will be given to all participants during the first day of UHACK. No waiver, No Hackathon.
Hack, hack, hack. The events will be a 2-day program where eligible participants will conceptualize, build, hack, and present their solutions on their chosen category.
Own it. Teams have full ownership of everything they built and created during the Hackathon. The team may pursue funding with investors during or after the hackathon but for purpose of commercialization, the organizer will have the right of first refusal to develop and deploy these solutions.
Start from scratch. You can prepare wireframes, outlines, or notes but you cannot start any of your design or development until the official start. Coming into the competition with ideas on top of previous projects is not allowed. Only concepts and mock ups built on open source frameworks that are public and available for use to everyone is allowed
API. All participants are ENCOURAGED use the given Unionbank APIs. The BONUS only applies if the UBP APIs are integrated in the project and/or with payment integration on top of other "challenges”.
Resources. Anything you need to complete your prototype. You may build your prototypes via native code, UBP APIs or templates. You may use any data analysis, processing or visualization tool you need to build your app.
Code Review. Winning teams are subject to a code-review at some point following the event or immediately before winning.
•Only a maximum of 20% for external plugins (API, DLL or Web services) can be used in your program. You can choose any of those.
•Utilization of all APIs (including Unionbank’s), DLLs and WEB SERVICES should be disclosed during submission, and providing documentation / license agreements is a plus.
•Online repository (Github, Bitbucket, etc) is required
Note : The technical team will access the repository after submission (hack ends), review the code for progression, readability and code quality. The team will also search for similar apps. Copyright infringement will be considered grounds for disqualification
